On October 28th, the 10th China Adolescents Science Video Festival closed in Sichuan. Two works, "New Edition of Two Children's Debates on the Sun" and "The Oyster Shell House in the Maritime Silk Road", by the pupils of the Second Affiliated Primary School of Quanzhou Normal University both won the first prize of the national competition, and were listed in the top 10 creative design booths and the top 10 posters. The two award-winning works were selected and directed by QNU Prof. Huang Xiaodong, the principal in charge of science and technology in the affiliated primary school.
Since QNU established its second affiliated primary school with Fengze District People's Government in 2018, the school has implemented the UGS (U for university, G for the government, and S for primary school) joint education model and carried out the "1369" scheme. It has achieved remarkable results and won several awards at provincial and municipal levels. Awards this time are the first national-level title since its establishment.
The science video competition received a total of 4647 works from 31 provinces, cities, districts, as well as Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, Hong Kong and Macau special administrative regions. After preliminary evaluation by judges, 140 works (3%) were shortlisted in the nationwide on-site exhibition screening and evaluation (14 works were from Fujian, ranking first in the whole country, of which 1 came from Affiliated Primary School of QNU, and 2 from Second Affiliated Primary School of QNU). After fierce competition on the spot, the committee selected 56 first prizes and 76 second prizes.
